Here are a few tips to help you break your phone addiction:
Set limits on your phone usage
If you find yourself spending too much time on your phone, set limits on how much you can use it each day. For example, you could allow yourself to use your phone for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. Once you reach your limit, put your phone away and do something else.
Find other things to do
When you have free time, instead of reaching for your phone, find something else to do. read a book, take a walk, or call a friend. There are plenty of things to do that don’t involve staring at a screen.
Keep your phone out of reach
If you have trouble staying away from your phone, keep it in a place where you can’t easily reach it. For example, you could put it in a drawer or on the other side of the room. This way, you’ll have to make a conscious effort to get your phone, which will help you cut down on your usage.
Turn off notifications
If you find yourself constantly checking your phone for new notifications, turn them off. That way, you won’t be tempted to look at your phone every time you hear a ding.
Delete addictive apps
If there are certain apps that you can’t seem to stop using, delete them from your phone. This will help you break your addiction and give you more control over your phone usage.
